Boise Based Non-Profit, Underdogs, Announces Plan to Open Local Venue

Boise, Idaho – Non-Profit Underdogs Boise has officially announced plans and crowdfunding efforts to open an all ages venue and community arts space in the Boise, Idaho area. Underdogs Boise has a primary purpose of providing a safe space for concerts, educational opportunities, volunteer efforts, and space for other appropriate performing arts. Part of the Underdogs mission is creating a sober, inclusive environment for all regardless of race, age, gender identity, etc. with all staff undergoing inclusivity and safe space training before opening day.

“Underdogs is a community-based effort to provide safe, accessible, all-ages shows to the Boise area. ” said Co-Founder and Executive Director Alex Marshall. “When we started this project, we had one goal in mind: To give the Boise all-ages music scene the venue they deserve. We’re so excited to bring a space that is completely inclusive for all of you to express yourselves and revel in the creativity that we all share.”

The non-profit’s initial fundraising goal is $10,000 for start-up costs and general maintenance through the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe. “Underdogs is currently looking for space just outside of the downtown core that can host around 200-300 people,” said Co-Founder Haley Winstead. “The GoFundMe is the required first step to take in the initial leasing process. We want to make sure we are able to provide the best space possible in our community for years to come.”

Underdogs is looking to open their doors in early 2023.
